After a good warm-up at the Am-Am, 30 medios were hungry to win the coveted Bastards trucker hat, the eternal praise that comes with it, and try to be the first medio in NWI history to pull off a Mrand Slam.
Several great rounds were turned in, but penalty stokes after penalty strokes were kicking them straight in the ass and out of contention. It was an up and coming rookie medio, with zero penalty strokes (for now), that turned in a quite impressive round. Joe Ullrich went 43/43 for a solid 86 ( I may or may not have needed a calculator for that) to win the 2023 Bastards Trucker Hat. If you didn't have this sleeper on your Fantasy Team you done messed up A' aron!!
The rookies were "kinda" on a roll here with Tyler Reid (R) spanking one down Broadway to get the Long Drive. Curt Wiekert (R) would round out the days awards by shooting a 131 and getting the Red Key.
Other notable awards for the day went as follows. Fuckin' Sheff would put one " 6 inches" closer than my shot to win the Closest to the Pin. I didn't walk away empty-handed though, with a +6 I got myself the Meltdown. And with our Champ shooting a 43/43 you would think he would be a shoe-in for Mediocre, but you would be wrong. Jeff Winnick shot a 47/47, which seemed way more deserving of the Golden "M".
Before I wrap up I want to thank Legacy Hills Golf Club for hosting us. The course was in great shape, staff was cool as hell, and I am definitely going to try to put this course on the schedule for next year.
