Jonathan Reatiga gets big win on his birthday!

Jonathan Reatiga gives himself the best birthday gift by winning the OC FORE! Championship.

It took a 2-hole playoff, but Jonathan Reatiga wins his second tournament of the year shooting 85 and pocketing $1.60. He now moves into 2nd place on the chapter “money” list. Coming up just short on the playoff was James White, also shooting 85, who takes 2nd earning $1.07. He was probably distracted by medio Kenny Carlson falling off the cart trying to film them. If it wasn’t for his penalty stroke, Robert “Chuck” Salazar would have been in the playoff as well. He finishes in a close 3rd shooting 86 and earning .89 cents. Tying for 4th and shooting 90 was Fred Valenzuela and Kenny Carlson with each taking home .76 cents. Kenny maintains his lead on the “money” list … for now.

Also tying in 6th with a 92 was Michael DeSio and Kimiko Saito who was visiting from the LA Chapter. They both received .58 cents. Taking 8th and earning .45 cents was Toby Olsen who shot a 97. Right on his tail was John Woscek finishing in 9th with a 98 and getting .36 cents. Filling out the top 10 by shooting his first ever score under 100 (from the red tees) was Greg Valenzuela Sr. He finished at 99 and earned .27 cents. You should have seen the excitement on his face.

Once again the Gross Award was not won by Phillip Valenzuela… because he was a no show. Therefore, it goes to the winner, which was Jonathan Reatiga.

Winning both the Most Mediocre Award and Long Drive was Michael DeSio who predicted he would win the long drive when practicing on the driving range before the round. That’s just not fair.

The Closest to the Pin was yet again on a hole surrounded by water, which means only a handful were able to hit the green. Shocking everyone and winning the award was Charles Day. He also won the Meltdown Award shooting 8 strokes worse on the back nine.

There is a new Red Key owner and his name is Hugo Gonzalez. He shot a staggering 63 on the front nine on his way to 117. That’s a rough day. At least he had a lot of beer.

The next tournament is The Douchebag Invitational at Navy Golf Course on September 21st. Everyone will be dressed to the nines competing to be the biggest douchebag. It only makes sense the South OC Chapter would want to join us.
