Driscoll Nails The Open Busch

In our second annual Open Busch Invitational, which was started when COVID F'd up our Regional event, 16 NWI medios and 7 PawPaw medios took to the course with everyone battling for the Busch can trophy. To add to the drama of the day, we also added a Chapter Cup to the event. Beers and bullshit started flowing early and by the first tee shot you would think everyone was going home with the trophy. The rain stayed away and made for a great day. Green speed was challenging from hole to hole and some tight fairways and LOTS of water made everyone a little flustered, which is why I love this course. When all the scorecards were turned in it was clear one medio had crushed it today. Dennis Driscoll ended up shooting an 84, beating the next closest medio by 6 strokes, winning him the giant Busch can trophy. Congrats Dennis, pressure is on next year to defend that covited award. He would also win the Monster trophy for the Long Drive.

Bradley Marshall from the PawPaw chapter won the Closest in DOMINATING fashion. Off the tee box he swished it for a hole in one and basically killing anyone elses chance of getting that award. Way to go Bradley!!!!

We had a tie for the Meltdown going to Jaque De Beer and Mike Freeman. Both fell apart on the back in true MGA fashion picking up an additional 12 strokes from the front.

The Hottest award, no it's not because he is the best looking S.O.B. there, going to the medio who improved the most from the front went to PawPaw's very own Karl Rettig. Improving his back 9 by 5 whole strokes he won the bottle of Mule Sauce hot sauce.

PawPaw wasn't done winning awards there though. Taking home the Toilet bowl trophy for the highest score would be Cletus La Salle. Last one to show up and last place, he is like a prophet.

Last, but definitely not least, we move on to the Chapter Cup. A very impressive Cup trophy with nothing less than a G.O.A.T. on top. The chapter winning that cup by 11 strokes was your very own Northwest Indiana. You can bet we will be fiercly defending that come next year, but I'm sure we will have some very stiff competition.

All in all it was a great event!!!!! Lots of fun and comrodery between chapters is what it is all about. Until next year, hit 'em straightish!!!!
