Chicago F.U. Open 2013

Chicago MGA was at it again in July for the F.U. Open.  8  of the guys showed up some of whom had been up for the entirety of the Pearl Jam show at Wrigley which ended at 2:05am.  Others had been at the show, but decided to leave at 11:45, about 15 min before they went back on stage.  At least they had a high enough commitment level to make it out to the F.U. Open.

It was a perfect day for golf and it took place at Klein Creek Golf Course out west in Winfield, IL. And many arrived in colors of red, white, and blue to show just how patriotic the MGA is about its country and golf. Matt Harvey arrived yet again to show that these colors don’t run, while others such as Eric the Greek arrived in a well-choreographed patriotic ensemble worthy of one Rickie Fowler.
The key to victory at this tournament was to stay out of trouble on many of the holes water hazards 30 acres of man made lakes to be exact. Stay dry and you might just be mounting the screaming eagle trophy to your wall, which is exactly what Mike Grote did on his round with a winning score of 89 after giving his 2 stroke handicap. The “White Crane” Bryson Stamm won Most Mediocre, and the meltdown award went to Dylan Psotka who had a 11 stroke differential from front to back. Also, the MGA proved that we could play slow by spreading out our groups by as many as 2 holes at some points. Besties, Jett Miller won closest to the pin, and Eric Stern won longest drive along with being tied for 2nd place with 90’s.
The next tourney will be on August 25th . Sign up here
