Brennan Earns Second Win of 2024, Claims F.U. Open Title

SEAFORD, DE---Tim Brennan became the first two-time winner in the history of the Lower Shore Chapter of the Mediocre Golf Association, claiming the F.U. Open by two shots, played at Hooper’s Landing Golf Course.

Brennan finished the round shooting an 84, totaling a net 92 after taking eight penalty strokes. The score was good for a two-shot victory over a trio of medios, posting a net 94. Mike Conklin, Michael Thomason and Dave Aughenbaugh tied for second. It marked Aughenbaugh’s third top-three finish in three events played this season.

Along with the low gross award, Brennan claimed closest to the pin, firing a shot to 12 feet on the par 3 eighth hole, and converting the birdie, one of two on the day.

Bob Lowe earned both Most Mediocre and long drive honors. Gustavo Rivas took the Meltdown award.

Les Scott earned the Key to the Red Tee, with the highest gross score, allowing him to advance one set of tee boxes at the next event.

With the completion of the F.U. Open marks the end of the first half of the MGA season. Brennan currently holds the lead in the chapter money race with $2.28. Alex Perry stands second with $1.92 with Aughenbaugh and Mike Rowe tied for third with $1.66.

The Claret Juggs are up for grabs next in the Bratish Open, played July 27 on the Man O’War Course at Glen Riddle.
