And just like that, the 2026 Maui MGA regular season is officially in the books.
A beautiful day at Wailea Blue provided the backdrop for The Last Gasp, and when it was all over, Pete M. walked away with the win — and the 2026 Chapter Money Title.
Pete has apparently decided that if we’re going to call this the Mediocre Golf Association, someone needs to take the competition seriously.
And nobody takes it more seriously than Pete.
So congratulations, Pete. Your commitment to being mediocre has officially paid off.

The rest of the day’s honors went to Jill S. for Long Drive, Roland for Closest to the Pin, and Eric for Most Mediocre. Jeff, Wiley, Reina and Nick teamed up for the day’s Biggest Meltdown, proving that even mediocre golf can occasionally reach elite levels of dysfunction.
There was also a little discussion surrounding the Long Drive, as the women’s tees were positioned more than 160 yards ahead of the men’s tees.
We’re not saying Jill’s win was controversial.
We’re just saying the Chapter Leadership may want to take a slightly closer look at the tee-box methodology before next season.
Vegas, Baby
With the regular season wrapped up, five Maui Medios are heading to Las Vegas next month to compete in the MGA World Championship.
Five.
We were hoping for a slightly larger Maui contingent, but apparently the opportunity to represent your chapter on the biggest mediocre stage in the world wasn’t enough motivation for everyone.
We’ll try not to take it personally.
The five of us will have plenty of fun, do our best to represent Maui, and hopefully come home with something more impressive than a good story about what happened in Vegas.
Next year, we’re expecting a better turnout.
One More Round
Of course, we’re not quite done yet.
December brings the first-ever Island Cup at Waiehu, where Maui will take on rhe Oahu Medios in a little inter-island competition.
Because apparently we don’t know how to actually end a golf season.
A huge mahalo to everyone who was part of the 2026 Maui MGA season. To everyone who played, traveled, competed, heckled, celebrated and helped make these events what they are — thank you.
It’s been another great year of questionable golf and even better company.
Regular season: done.
Vegas: next.
Island Cup: after that.
Apparently we’re going to keep doing this.
